Early diagnostics of benign prostatic hyperplasia
in work of the general practitioner
Benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) - one of the most widespread diseases of men of the
advanced age, which characterized specific, morphological changes – hyperplasia of stromal and
epithelial cells of the prostate gland.
To the XXI century beginning the tendency to increase in life expectancy of the population
was outlined in many countries of the world. Along with it, growth of number of some diseases at
persons of advanced age that has defined an urgency of problems of the urological diseases
connected with process of ageing, such as a cancer, benign prostatic hyperplasia, erectil dysfunction,
a prostatitis, etc. is noticed[8].
BPH, being at the bottom of bladder outlet obstruction (BOO), it is shown by symptoms of
lower urinary tract, that leads to decrease in quality of life and infringement of psycho-emotional
balance at elderly men, especially, at those (90 %) who lives till 85-90 years [7].
