The aim of this study is to investigate the usage of Communicative Language Teaching (CLA) by Uzbek primary school teachers of English. It employs a case study approach in order to explore the extent to which CLA is compatible with the Uzbek EFL context at elementary level. For data collection interview and after observation interviews were conducted. The lessons of eight EFL teachers of state specialized secondary school #1 were observed during 2 weeks. These problems are miscomprehension and strong attachment to traditional methods. The prevalence of these problems confirms that there is a need to understand CLA.
